There are many reasons to volunteer at Sioux Center Health! Volunteers are able to enrich the lives of others, put their talents and experience to work for a good cause, and make an impact on the community. You will also meet new people and develop new friendships all while exploring your own interests and passions. Sioux Center Health volunteers have the opportunity to learn new skills, build self-confidence, enrich their education and have a feeling of accomplishment.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Hospital Greeters
Welcome patients, families and visitors upon their arrival to the hospital and help direct or escort them to their destination.
Gift Shop
Welcome visitors to the gift shop and assist them with their purchases. Assist Gift Shop staff with preparing items for the sale floor.
Hospice
Be a comforting and supporting presence, listen to patient concerns, provide spiritual and bereavement support, help with homemaking, journaling, and many other areas.
Senior Care
At Crown Pointe Estates, assist with activities, provide one on one visitation to residents, read to residents, and assist staff on various outings.
Med Surg
Provide visitation and support to those who have a need to remain in the hospital for an extended stay.
How to Become a Sioux Center Health Volunteer
As a volunteer, you will have flexibility with your schedule and will be able to select opportunities that would best fit your interests and talents. To become a volunteer, you will need to do the following:
- Complete an application as well as the required background checks and health assessment.
- We will set up a time to meet with you to provide information on our facilities and to discuss your volunteer goals.
- Upon completion of orientation, new volunteers may shadow an experienced volunteer until confident to perform the duty on their own.
