Position Highlights

Summary

  • The Long Term Care Physical Therapy Restorative Therapy Aide provides specialized services and procedure/treatment that is needed to maintain optimal functioning for the Long Term Care residents.

General Hours of Work

  • 8 hour shifts: weekend/holiday rotation

Education and/or Experience

  • Completion of approved Restorative Therapy Course. Possession of Nursing Assistant Certificate. High school diploma of GED and CPR certification preferred. Prior related work experience preferred.

Certificate, Licenses, Registrations

  • Restorative Aide Certificate and Nursing Assistant Certificate required, CPR certification preferred. This position requires a valid driver’s license and must carry their own automobile liability insurance.

Essential Functions

  • Assists residents towards maximum physical, functional, emotional potential by providing consistent, therapeutic care under the direction of the professional staff including Restorative Coordinator.
  • Implements rehabilitation programs as prescribed by Restorative Coordinator including exercise, transfer, gait training, and ADL training.
  • Documents and reports the resident’s response to treatment and any changes noted to the Restorative Coordinator and consulting therapist.
  • Monitors use of beneficial devices, splints, etc. as directed by professional staff.
  • Meets with the Consulting Therapist/Care Plan Coordinator on a quarterly basis.
  • Attends Care Conferences as needed. Assists with the collection of information pertaining to the resident’s care conference.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Exhibits S.H.A.R.E. principles.
