Position Highlights
Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides front line reception by greeting, assisting and directing visitors, employees or other Sioux Center Health guests. Assists the Human Resources Officer with all clerical and support duties in the endeavor of assisting the staff of the Sioux Center Health with all employment and benefits issues.
General Hours of Work
Monday - Friday
Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent related experience and/or training required.
Essential Functions
1. Performs general clerical duties consistent with the personnel functions including but not limited to:
Maintains up-to-date employment and wage records on personnel.
Responsible for maintaining current and accurate employee information within the HRIS database.
Responsible for maintaining current and accurate logs of employment changes including, but not limited to: applicant names/dates, transfer requests, confirm transfers, corrective actions, new employees, health/dental insurance, life insurance, etc.
Responsible for maintaining records related to processing employee referral and retention bonuses.
2. Performs the following duties in conjunction with the recruitment and hiring functions of the department:
Assures that all necessary information is maintained for employee files (i.e. employee application, reference letters, confirmation letter, I-9 form, Social Security card, employment agreement, time badges, originals of employee evaluations, originals of all Personnel Action forms.
Responsible for new employee processing.
Assist with applicant interviewing, reference checks and campus recruiting as directed by Human Resources Officer.
Type confirmation letters and accompanying correspondence.
Post open positions and maintain open position listing.
Performs necessary background, compliance and license checks.
3. Receives customer requests in person, telephone or mail, analyzes requests, and provides information requested or ascertains who can best provide the information and routes request to the proper person in a timely fashion.
4. Administer the Leave of Absence process to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
5. Conducts research of records for information relating to status changes, payroll and benefit information, or verification or locations of other records or information.
6. Generates, types and revises correspondence using acceptable business format. Proofreads final copy for errors. Documents include memos, letters and reports containing columns of figures.
7. Assists with the collection of and maintenance of employee records needed by accreditation or as may be required by law.
8. Performs all other duties as assigned.
